About the Office of Veterans Services
About us
The Veterans Services Office is a County and State funded agency established in 1944 to assist Veterans, Military Personnel, and their Families in obtaining federal, state, and local benefits earned through active duty military service. Our primary mission is to assist our Veteran community in applying for and obtaining compensation benefits through the US Department of Veterans Affairs (USDVA). The claims and application process is complex and often confusing. Our state and nationally accredited Veteran Services Representatives are experienced and highly trained to provide assistance through all steps and phases of this process. We look forward to meeting you at our office, or at one of the many Veteran focused outreach events we support.
Mission
The Santa Clara County Office of Veteran Services is committed to providing service to veterans, their dependents and survivors. The office has dedicated advocates for the veterans of Santa Clara County. The Veterans Services Office strives to promote and honor all veterans and enhance their quality of life and that of their dependents and survivors by assisting in accessing federal, state and local veteran benefits.
Vision
The vision of the Santa Clara Veterans office is to provide the highest level of customer service by utilizing technology and process efficiency to provide veterans and their dependents quality claims assistance and quality access to benefits.

Additional contact information
Tuesdays from 8:10 AM – 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM – 4:30 PM we conduct both virtual walk-in and in-person walk-in service.
We are closed during county holidays and in-service days. In-service training is on the last Thursday and Friday of each month (or the week prior if there is a holiday). The office will be closed on those days and reopen on the following Monday. We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause; however, we believe that training is a fundamental part of development and helps to ensure the Office of Veterans Services continues to enhance the level of services provided to our Veterans.
The office is using a hybrid model of remote work and in-person work to help keep the employees and the public safe in our current environment.
