Palo Alto VA Medical as well as multiple community partners will be present to provide veterans with access to medical care providers. If you are not enrolled with the VA for medical services, this is a fantastic opportunity to get enrolled as well as to meet with other local providers

At the Stand Down there will be accredited County Veteran Serivces Representatives from Santa Clara and nearby counties as well as support from the Veteran Benefit Administration to help you file your claims
Educational sessions will be provided to help veterans, spouses, dependents, and family members get an idea of what services the VA offers veterans and how to identify eligibility for these services

A focus of the Stand Down is on homeless or housing insecure veterans. At the Stand Down you will be able to connect with local housing services to identify any resources available to you and any veterans you know who have difficulty with housing.
Please do not wait for the Stand Down to seek out resources. Call or come to the Santa Clara County Veteran Services Office at any time so we can help connect you with resources available in the community.

During the Stand Down there will be services providing assistance with employment including resume development and review, practice interviews, and the ability to meet directly with employers.
If you are planning to receive assistance with your resume or apply for a position, make sure to prepare and bring a physical copy of your resume and have a digital copy available to be emailed. Most providers are unable to take a resume from a USB stick or thumb drive.

We will have services available to provide veterans with legal aid to handle issues with the County of Santa Clara. Please contact the VSO at 408-918-4980 to learn more about the specific services that will be available and what documentation and support will be required to meet with the Public Defender or Honorable Judge Manley with the Veteran’s Court program.

In addition to the Veteran Services Office, multiple County of Santa Clara and State of California departments and offices will be in attendance at the Stand Down. This will be an opportunity for you to see what services the county offers, figures out what services you may be eligible for, and to begin the application process.

We are excited to have multiple veteran groups based locally attending the Stand Down. These groups are here to support veterans through the good and tough times and will be on site to explain what they offer and how it will help you.
As with all other services provided at the Stand Down, all services will be free at the event, and the groups will explain how they can help you after the event ends.

Beyond meeting with a claims rep or getting to know other veterans in the area, the Stand Down will have services available, free of charge, to all veterans, surviving spouses, and dependents of veterans at the Stand Down.
